Nicholas Holds Huawei Talks in China to Advance Digital Agenda

Information, Communication Technologies, Utilities and Energy Minister Melford Nicholas has concluded a series of meetings in China aimed at advancing Antigua and Barbuda’s digital transformation efforts.

Nicholas, accompanied by Information Technology Centre Director Luxmore Edwards, met with Huawei Vice President Harry Bei to discuss potential collaboration in information and communications technology infrastructure, artificial intelligence and smart government solutions, according to the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Information Technology.

The ministry said the discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure and improve the delivery of government services through technology.

Officials said the engagements form part of the government’s broader strategy to build a modern and resilient digital ecosystem that supports innovation and public sector transformation.

The meetings took place during the delegation’s visit to the People’s Republic of China.
