Fenton crossed the finish line in 23.30 seconds to secure second place and earn the country’s first podium finish of the championships.

The medal came a day after the young sprinter finished fifth in the girls’ 400 metres, rebounding with a strong performance in the 200m final.

The Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association congratulated Fenton on her achievement, describing it as the nation’s first medal at this year’s championships.

Fenton’s silver medal provides an early boost for Antigua and Barbuda’s campaign at the regional meet as the country’s athletes continue competition.
