The Central Board of Health (CBH) continues to strengthen its commitment to protecting the health and well-being of our communities through public health education.

Recently, CBH staff attached to the Villa Poly Clinic engaged patients and visitors in the clinic’s waiting areas, taking the opportunity to share practical and easy-to-follow tips on maintaining a healthy home and environment while they waited to see the nurse or doctor.

The interactive health education sessions covered a wide range of important topics, including preventing pest infestations in and around the home, proper food purchasing practices such as checking for dented or damaged canned goods, the safe storage of household chemicals away from food, maintaining good personal and household hygiene, and effective mosquito prevention measures to reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.

The sessions were well received, with visitors actively participating by asking questions, sharing their experiences, and seeking advice on everyday health concerns. This positive interaction highlights the value of community engagement and reinforces the importance of empowering individuals with practical knowledge that can be applied in their daily lives.

The Central Board of Health recognizes that protecting public health is a shared responsibility. By working collaboratively with the nursing team at the Villa Poly Clinic, we can provide patients with valuable health information that complements the clinical care they receive, helping to create healthier homes, safer communities, and improved health outcomes for all.

The Central Board of Health extends its sincere appreciation to the staff of the Villa Poly Clinic for their continued partnership and remains committed to bringing meaningful health education directly to the communities we serve.
