India and Antigua and Barbuda have held discussions on a range of bilateral issues, including preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), sports cooperation and educational exchanges.
According to the High Commission of India in Guyana, Acting High Commissioner Manoj Kumar met with several government officials during his visit to Antigua and Barbuda for the observance of the 12th International Day of Yoga.
The officials included the Minister of Education, the Commissioner of Sports and the Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions focused on pending matters of bilateral cooperation, including preparatory arrangements for CHOGM, the selection of teams for the Girmitiya Games in India, the use of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) training opportunities, scholarship programmes and other areas of mutual interest.
The meeting forms part of ongoing engagement between the two countries to strengthen cooperation in education, sports, capacity building and diplomatic relations.
