    VACANCY PROJECT TECHNICIAN

    The University of the West Indies, Five Islands Campus (UWI FIC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the post of:

    PROJECT TECHNICIAN PROJECTS AND PLANNINGUNIT THE OFFICE OF THE CAMPUS REGISTRAR

    (Salary range: XCD$32,519.65 – XCD$48,735.33)

    The successful candidate will be required to:

    • Support the Head of Projects and Planning in the development of projects, including liaising with contractors and suppliers and preparing project documentation such as design briefs and reports.
    • Conduct inspections and assessments of spaces and buildings slated for renovation or remodeling, and provide recommendations to the Head of Projects and Planning.
    • Assist with project and other procurement processes, including liaising with end-users to confirm requirements for Requests for Proposals, and reviewing estimates, quotations, and invoices.
    • Review project documentation, such as drawings, briefs, and proposals, to ensure technical soundness.
    • Monitor project progress, including recording meeting minutes and correspondence, tracking agreed variations for budget reconciliation, and conducting quality control site inspections during construction.
    • Conduct assessments and audits, and prepare reports and presentations as required.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    Essential Qualifications and Experience:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Management or a related area.
    • A minimum of three years’ experience in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Management or a related area.
