The Rotary Club of Antigua officially opened its 54th Anniversary Week on Sunday, 6 September, with a special church service at Ebenezer Methodist Church, where Rotarians gathered in thanksgiving and reflection on more than five decades of service to Antigua and Barbuda. Delivering remarks on behalf of the Club, President Anastasia Wilson reflected on the generations of Rotarians whose service, fellowship and commitment have shaped the Club’s legacy, while calling on members to continue making a meaningful and sustainable difference in the community.

The service marked the beginning of a week of activities from 6–12 September under the theme, “54 Years of Service Above Self – Creating Lasting Impact.” Anniversary activities continue with Media Day on Monday, 7 September, followed by Peace Literacy Reading Sessions at primary schools on Tuesday, 8 September and the Club’s 54th Anniversary Dinner Meeting on Wednesday, 9 September. On Thursday, 10 September, Rotarians will participate in a Volunteer Day at the Fiennes Institute, while on Friday, 11 September, the Club will extend its service to Barbuda through an Eye Screening initiative for residents.

The week culminates on Saturday, 12 September, with the Caribbean Wellness Day Glow Walk 2026, bringing together the Rotary Club of Antigua, Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown, Rotaract Club of Antigua and Interact Clubs. Members of the public are encouraged to participate in the Glow Walk, held under the theme “Engage, Empower, Elevate: Working Together to Improve Health and Wellbeing for All.” Registration is $20, with participants also eligible to win raffle prizes including a fruit basket, blood pressure monitor and finger pulse oximeter.

Looking ahead to the Club’s 55th year, President Wilson shared a message of continued service and humility:

“As we look ahead, may we continue to serve with humility, may our Club continue to be a light in the community, a source of encouragement to those in need and a reminder that small acts of service can bring great blessings as we strive to create lasting impact.”
