Prime Minister Gaston Browne says one of the suspects in Monday night’s deadly Bathlodge shooting had been arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition on Feb. 5, 2026, but was granted bail.

“Keeping giving them bail and spank them on the hands, until they destroy our country,” Browne wrote on Facebook.

The shooting claimed the life of 20-year-old Saquania Anthony and left a 13-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man injured.

Police said three masked gunmen forced their way into a Bathlodge residence at about 11:30 p.m. and opened fire. Anthony was pronounced dead early Tuesday, while the teenager and the man were taken to the hospital.

Two male suspects have since been arrested, while police are searching for a third person. No charges have been filed in connection with the shooting.
