ECAB Announces First Game Changers Scholarship Recipient
— The Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank (ECAB) is proud to announce 15-year-old Ethan Camacho as the first recipient of the ECAB Game Changers Scholarship.
Ethan is a student-athlete currently pursuing his studies at Ackworth School’s football academy in England. He was selected following careful consideration of the applications received, with emphasis placed on academic achievement and athletic ability.
The one-time EC$25,000 scholarship grant is intended to assist with the cost of studying abroad, helping Ethan to pursue his academic and athletic ambitions while continuing his development as a young footballer.
Prior to beginning his studies at Ackworth School, Ethan attended Baptist Academy, where he maintained a GPA of 3.0 and above while demonstrating a strong commitment to football. In 2021, he placed third overall in the Antigua and Barbuda Grade 6 National Assessment. He has also represented Antigua and Barbuda on multiple occasions in regional competitions and has earned numerous accolades throughout his football career, including multiple Golden Boot titles, as well as Best Midfielder and Most Valuable Player awards.
Ethan was also highly recommended by his coaches in support of his scholarship application.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Ethan said, “Thank you, ECAB. I am very grateful for this scholarship, and it will make my studies abroad easier to attain.”
ECAB’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Michael Spencer, said, “We are always happy to support the dreams of promising young people in our country. We want to ensure that more youth can comfortably fulfil their dreams, and that’s what the ECAB Game Changers Scholarship is about. We wish Ethan the best.”
ECAB congratulates Ethan on this significant achievement and wishes him continued success as he pursues his academic and athletic ambitions in England.
