Delegates from Antigua and Barbuda and seven other Caribbean countries are taking part in a media training programme in China from 10 to 24 October.
Organised by the China Public Diplomacy Association, the programme brings together participants from Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Suriname, Grenada, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
The English-language training includes visits to cultural and historical sites, discussions on China–Caribbean relations and an introduction to China’s technological development.
Organisers say the initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties and links between people in China and the Caribbean. It also examines five programmes intended to advance cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean.
