Antigua and Barbuda’s National Food Fair will take place on October 25 alongside Junior Panorama, in a one-off change to this year’s Independence celebrations.

Director of National Events Petley O’Keiffe said vendor spaces for the food fair were already fully booked, while participating schools were preparing for the steelpan competition.

Speaking on Saturday’s Browne and Browne Show, she said the arrangement would allow patrons to enjoy local food before heading into the stadium for Junior Panorama.

“You get something to eat, you come inside of the stadium and you enjoy some nice pan music,” she said.

Admission to Junior Panorama will be $20 for adults and $10 for students, she said.

O’Keiffe explained that the combined events form part of an adjusted programme for Antigua and Barbuda’s 45th anniversary of Independence, with Commonwealth activities and the royal visit also shaping arrangements.

The ceremonial parade remains scheduled for November 1, with organisers planning additional entertainment and a cricket match involving heads of state.
