Antigua and Barbuda is hosting the 43rd Caribbean Travel Marketplace from May 19–21, 2025, marking a milestone for the island as it welcomes over 800 tourism stakeholders from 15 countries for more than 9,000 business meetings.

Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez celebrated the economic boost from the event, noting local involvement by 22 companies and wide benefits for sectors including transport, hospitality, and food services. He also spotlighted a dedicated sustainability segment addressing reef and mangrove conservation, and the need to support tourism workers. “Sustainability means caring for our workforce,” Fernandez stated.

Former Tourism Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph praised the event’s scale and organization, calling it one of the best he has seen. “This establishes Antigua as a hub for international gatherings,” he said, referencing the country’s hosting of other major conferences.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne emphasized that Antigua is well-positioned for high-profile events due to its infrastructure and tourism strategy. “We are one of the few Caribbean countries equipped to host events of this scale,” he said.

The Marketplace concludes with the “Wicket Fete” at Coolidge Cricket Grounds, blending cricket, carnival, and cuisine in a festive showcase of Antiguan culture.
