    New Winthorpes Man Arrested for Modified Flare Gun and Ammunition

    St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Wednesday, May 21, 2025

    Austin Robin of New Winthorpes is in police custody following his arrest for possession of an illegal firearm and one round of ammunition.

    Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, police officers were conducting routine patrols in the vicinity of the West Bus Station near the Fisheries Complex when they observed certain suspicious activity.

    The suspect was seen carrying a bag with a modified flare gun and one (1) 9mm round of ammunition. He was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

    The police remain committed to their efforts to rid the streets of illegal weapons and are urging members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement to keep communities safe.
