    Special House Sitting Today to Honour Sir Robin Yearwood’s 50 Years in Parliament

    The House of Representatives will meet in a special sitting Wednesday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Sir Robin Yearwood’s election to Parliament.

    Sir Robin was first elected on Feb. 18, 1976, representing the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party under the leadership of Vere Cornwall Bird.

    The ceremonial sitting is expected to feature tributes from fellow lawmakers. Governor General Sir Rodney Williams is also scheduled to attend and deliver remarks.

    The session will open with the formal entry of the Speaker, prayers and the adoption of a motion to amend the Order Paper in accordance with the Standing Orders.
