Building materials are being prepared for distribution to residents in need in Barbuda, according to ABLP caretaker for Barbuda Kendra Beazer.

In a social media post shared Wednesday, Beazer said the initiative is aimed at assisting vulnerable residents while reinforcing what he described as a commitment to ensuring access to safe and dignified housing on the sister island.

“Building hope, one home at a time,” the post stated.

Beazer said teams are “working together to prepare building materials for those who need it most.”

The post added that the initiative reflects the belief that “housing is a right, not a privilege,” and said the commitment to helping Barbudans would continue despite ongoing issues surrounding the island’s land system.

“Every piece of building material distributed is a step toward resilience, equality, and the promise that every Barbudan deserves a place to call home,” the statement said.

The post did not specify when the materials will be distributed or how many residents are expected to benefit.
