The Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank (ECAB) has helped to improve the quality of life for two individuals with disabilities.

Eleven-year-old D’hanna Henry, a grade five student at the Potters Primary School, and Kemoy George were presented with new wheelchairs on Friday, May 16th, 2025, during a short exchange at the Potters Primary School.

ECAB’s Marketing & Communications Officer, Jessica Russell, said, “While we are happy to make this contribution, we know that the recipients are even happier as these wheelchairs will help them navigate with more ease and comfort.”

Potters Primary School Principal Jasinter Athill said, “We have been trying to get a better wheelchair for D’hanna and thought we had exhausted all our options. We are so grateful that you have made this donation to her.”

D’hanna and her mother, Hersha Ponter, were visibly excited about the wheelchair, which will give D’hanna more independence.

Meanwhile, Kemoy George said, “I want to thank ECAB for giving these chairs to us.”

ECAB’s Marketing & Communications Manager, K. Michele Marshall, said, “We are always looking for opportunities to help, and this is definitely a worthy cause.”

The connection was made when ECAB’s Marketing Team contacted Joshuanette Francis, President of Good Humans 268 Inc., which is a non-profit organization focused on aiding individuals with disabilities through community outreach and climate action.

ECAB expressed an interest in aiding those with disabilities, and Ms. Francis identified suitable recipients.

ECAB’s six branches are all wheelchair accessible as the financial institution aims to serve all members of society.
