A new public cemetery in Tomlinsons is expected to open by June, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced.

Speaking in Parliament, Mr Browne said while there is no confirmed date for the chapel’s completion, the government is aiming to begin operations at the site within weeks.

The Tranquillity Cemetery, which has faced several delays, is being developed to ease overcrowding at the St John’s Public Cemetery. It will include orderly graves and a non-denominational chapel.

Officials say the site will provide a dignified and peaceful resting place for the community.
