    Police seize 138K Worth of Cannabis at Airport

    St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Wednesday, May 21, 2025

    A significant quantity of cannabis valued at approximately $138,000 was seized at the V.C. Bird International Airport.

    On Tuesday, officers from the Narcotics Department and Customs officials carried out a joint drug operation at the Airport Cargo Shed, and during the operation, they discovered a cardboard box containing twenty-three (23) vacuum-sealed packages of cannabis. The packages weighed a total of 23 pounds.

    The controlled substance was confiscated and transported to Police Headquarters, as further investigations remain ongoing.

    Law Enforcement Authorities remain committed to strengthening border security and combating the trafficking of illegal drugs into the country.
