    Coroner’s Inquest Into Death Of Guyanese National Concluded

    St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Friday, May 23, 2025

    A Coroner’s Inquest was held on Thursday, May 22, into the tragic death of 19-year-old Joyleen Abraham, a national of Guyana. The inquest was presided over by Coroner, Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel, and conducted before a six-member jury.

    The matter stems from an incident that occurred on Wednesday, May 7, along a by-road leading to the Jabberwock main road, where it is alleged that she jumped from a vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the hearing, the inquest was adjourned sine die.

    The police continue their investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death, and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any additional information that could assist in the ongoing investigation to contact the Coolidge Police Station at 462-3185 or call Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
