Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced that he and his ABLP colleagues will table a bill at the next sitting of Parliament to pardon individuals convicted for possessing small quantities of cannabis.

In a social media statement, Browne—referring to himself as “Ras Gassy”—said the proposed legislation aims to give both citizens and residents a fresh start by clearing their criminal records of minor cannabis-related offences.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader push to modernize drug laws and address the long-term effects of such convictions on people’s lives.
