A police officer who was shot multiple times while responding to an incident at a nightclub on Potter’s Main Road has undergone a leg amputation.

Constable Travon Giddings was critically injured in the May 26 shooting and remains in recovery at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.

Authorities say the suspects—still at large—are armed and dangerous, and have urged them to surrender immediately at the nearest police station. The public is also being asked to assist in the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913/3914 or submit anonymous tips via Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

Police say Giddings faces a long and difficult road to recovery.
