    SJDC Issues Mandatory Re-Registration Notice for All Carnival Vendors

    In an effort to manage and control vending strategically within the city of St. John’s the general public and all relevant stakeholders are informed that Vendors who formerly operated under the management of the Festivals Commission within the vicinity of the Independence Drive and other areas within that boundary are advised to reregister with the St. Johns Development Corporation. All vendor related inquiries and applications are to be redirected to The St. John’s Development Corporation. The Festival Commission will continue to manage vending withing Carnival City and in the Shanty Town area for the upcoming Carnival season.

    Vending operations in Antigua and Barbuda falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Social and Urban Transformation which has a comprehensive plan for vendor control in Antigua and Barbuda through a uniform partnership approach with St. John’s Development Corporation.

    Vendors can now formally apply for vending for the carnival period which has been designated July 13th to August 6th 2025. An application fee of EC$10.00 is required and forms can be obtained between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays at the offices of the corporation.

    The Corporation advises that the deadline for receipt of application is July 20, 2025.
