Jamaican humanitarian Dr. Onika P. Campbell-Rowe has been named the winner of the Emerging Caribbean Leader Award at the Caribbean POSH Icon Woman Awards.

The ceremony, held in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands from 27 to 29 June, recognised outstanding Caribbean women making significant contributions in their respective fields.

Dr. Campbell-Rowe, a United Nations Global Peace Ambassador affiliated with the Canadian International Chaplaincy Association, was honoured for her leadership and commitment to peace and social development.

She also works with NGOs holding consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

The organisers described her as a “trailblazer whose work is inspiring a new generation of Caribbean leaders.”

Now in its latest edition, the Caribbean POSH Icon Woman Awards celebrates female changemakers across the region and the diaspora.
