A male student at the Princess Margaret School has been cleared of wrongdoing following an incident in which he was accused of assaulting his form teacher during class last week.
The student was initially alleged to have touched the teacher inappropriately, prompting the teacher to reportedly slap him across the face. His parents intervened after he returned home with visible swelling, insisting their son was innocent and calling for an investigation.
A meeting held on Tuesday involving school officials, the teacher, and the parents determined that the student was not responsible for the alleged act. A female student later confessed to being the one who touched the teacher.
According to the boy’s mother, the teacher has not apologized despite the clarification and her son was “humiliated in front of his classmates.” The family is now exploring legal options and expects the Ministry of Education to address the matter.
The ministry has confirmed that it is reviewing the case.
