St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda , Saturday, 10 January 2026

The police have arrested and charged 25-year-old Alvin O’Brien of Parham in connection with a larceny incident at Fryes Beach.

Reports indicate that a woman had parked her vehicle at the beach and left her handbag on the front passenger seat. The accused was later spotted at the driver’s side door with part of his body inside the vehicle.

An alarm was raised, and he fled the scene in a silver motor car. The vehicle was subsequently intercepted by officers attached to the Bolans Police Station and he was arrested and taken into custody.

He is expected to appear before the court next week to answer to the charge.

Meanwhile, the police continue to appeal to the public to desist from leaving valuable items unattended inside vehicles.

The Police Administration encourages everyone to play their part to help safeguard against theft and other criminal activities.
