Antigua Cruise Port says work is continuing on its Upland Development Project — including a new cruise terminal — as the company and the government move ahead with a redevelopment plan they describe as a major step for the country’s cruise sector.

The port operator said recent aerial images showing several ships docked in St. John’s Harbour point to steady demand for Antigua and Barbuda as a cruise call. The company said improved port facilities are expected to benefit taxi drivers, tour operators, vendors and other small businesses tied to visitor spending.

Antigua Cruise Port said the upgraded terminal and related upland amenities are intended to improve the visitor experience and strengthen the country’s position in the regional cruise market. The company said more project updates are expected as construction continues into 2026.
