Creative Industries Minister Daryll Matthew says the One Nation Caribbean Music Festival is evolving into an international cultural event as it expands beyond its original format.

In an interview with ABS News, Matthew said the festival has become a recognizable brand in Antigua and Barbuda and is entering a phase of natural growth. “One Nation is now a brand in Antigua and Barbuda,” he said, adding that it is transitioning into a larger event in line with a vision set out by Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

Matthew said future plans could include a week-long festival featuring masterclasses and workshops led by local producers and artistes, aimed at strengthening skills in the creative sector.

The festival is scheduled for this weekend at the Antigua Recreation Ground. What began as a one-night concert has expanded into a two-night event, reflecting growing public interest and regional support.

Organizers say the festival’s theme—“One people. One love. One Nation.”—underscores its focus on Caribbean unity, a message Matthew believes is central to its appeal and international potential.
