    LETTER: No Visa? So what?

    Dear Editor,

Are West Indians, including us, more stupid than normal or is it that we will just not accept reality? I speak specifically about the US Visa situation. Most persons have access to the internet and international news, are they not seeing and reading or is it that they lack understanding.

The visa restrictions has hit almost every black and brown country. This has nothing to do with Alfa Nero, or CIP or links to Cuba and Venezuela.

Stephen Miller, Trump’s head honcho on Immigrations stated prior to the election that his aim was basically to make America White again. Don’t people see that poor Little Marco as Secretary of State, makes a statement, which is immediately upturned by a contrary statement from the White House.

When Antigua was put on a list, even the US Embassy in Barbados did not have a clue.

Wake up my people. And it is not only the US. Britain and many European country are also doing the same but not as in your face as the USA. Turn your attention to shopping and vacation in Panama, Dominician Republic and South America.

Beaches, history and good shopping await you.

Panama has a Free Trade Zone where you can purchase everything you want more affordable than the US. After all, most things come from China anyway.

60% of all Antiguans who applied for visas have always been turned down, so why was there no gnashing of teeth and pulling of hair then?

Antigua is a paradise where you can live a good life if you are prepared to work. The grass is not always greener on the other side.
