    Foreign Minister Greene Meets with India’s External Affairs Minister to Advance CHOGM 2026 Cooperation

    The Honourable E.P. Chet Greene, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda, held a bilateral meeting with the Honourable Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, on the margins of the Commonwealth Foreign Ministers Meeting in London.

    The discussions focused on fortifying bilateral relations and advancing practical cooperation in preparation for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2026, which Antigua and Barbuda will host from 1st to 4th November 2026 in St. John’s.

    Minister Greene expressed appreciation for India’s longstanding partnership with Small Island Developing States and highlighted Antigua and Barbuda’s priority areas of support in the lead-up to CHOGM 2026. These include maritime security cooperation, assistance with procuring motorcycles to enhance security mobility and motorcade operations, and technical support for audiovisual systems at the main conference venue to ensure world‐class meeting facilities for Heads of Government.

    Both Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in security, technology, and capacity building. They agreed to maintain close technical coordination to advance the identified areas of collaboration.

    Minister Greene welcomed India’s continued engagement within the Commonwealth of Nations and expressed confidence that India’s partnership would contribute meaningfully to the successful hosting of CHOGM 2026.

    Foreign Minister Greene was accompanied to the bilateral by Her Excellency Karen-Mae Hill, High Commissioner and Ms. Chantal Phillip, Minister Counsellor.
