Repairs are ongoing at the police post at the West Bus Station following damage to the building, with officers temporarily relocated to the St. John’s Police Station while restoration work continues.

Police officials said work on the facility had been carried out as recently as the previous day as crews move to restore the structure, which sustained significant damage.

“What I can say, yes, work has been done as late as yesterday,” a senior officer said during a media briefing.

Officials expressed hope that the repairs will be completed soon, allowing officers to return to the post, which serves a key role in policing the busy transportation hub.

“I’m hoping in short order that the officers would be back there… in a matter of a week and a half at most, maybe,” the officer added.
