Sea Bridge Ferries has announced a fare increase effective June 1, citing higher fuel and operating costs after maintaining the same ticket prices for the past six years.
In a notice to customers, the ferry operator said it had not increased fares since 2020 and had absorbed rising expenses in an effort to keep the service affordable. However, the company said continued increases in fuel prices and other operational costs have made a fare adjustment necessary.
Under the new pricing structure, a one-way ticket will cost $155, comprising a $140 base fare and a $15 fuel surcharge. A round-trip ticket will cost $275, including a $250 base fare and a $25 fuel surcharge.
Sea Bridge Ferries said the increase was driven in part by global conditions affecting fuel supply, processing and transportation, which have contributed to higher costs across multiple sectors.
The company described the adjustment as modest and said it had sought to keep the increase as limited as possible while ensuring the continued operation of the service.
“We understand that any increase can be inconvenient, and we have kept this adjustment as fair and limited as possible,” the company said in its announcement.
Sea Bridge Ferries added that the fare increase is necessary to maintain a safe, efficient, reliable and comfortable service for passengers.
The revised fares take effect on Monday, June 1, 2026.
