In a statement, the hospital said it takes all concerns related to patient safety, quality of care and professional conduct seriously.

While noting that patient confidentiality and privacy obligations prevent it from discussing specific cases publicly, the institution confirmed that a thorough review of the patient’s full timeline of care is underway.

Hospital administrators also said they will contact the family directly to ensure their concerns are heard and addressed as part of the review process.
