This year marks ten (10) years of the Richard S. Lewis Annual Back-to-School Supplies Initiative.

For these past ten years as a representative of the people, I have worked to help provide the children of the Rural West community with valuable back-to-school supplies for the new school year. This initiative was made possible from personal contributions and much appreciated donations from valuable donors.

Supplies have been scaled back this year and are currently being distributed strictly on a needs basis as we try to reach as many needy students as our limited resources allow.

I see the education of our children as a primary contributor to the economic development of our nation, and so it is important to support our students wherever we can.

It also gives me great pleasure giving back to my community that is so dear to my heart.

My family and I are grateful to those who have assisted the initiative over the years with their contributions and support.

To all the students of the Rural West community, I wish you a successful academic year 2026/2027.
