The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons produced a commanding performance Tuesday night, defeating the previously unbeaten Guyana Amazon Warriors by 65 runs at Providence Stadium in the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League.

Batting first, the Falcons posted 182 for five from their 20 overs, powered by Hasan Nawaz’s 36 from 27 balls and a blistering unbeaten 30 from just nine deliveries by Shadab Khan. The Falcons exploded for 72 runs in the final five overs to set Guyana a target of 183.

The Warriors’ chase quickly unravelled as Alzarri Joseph ripped through the top order. The Antiguan fast bowler finished with four wickets for 41 runs from his four overs, while Shadab added two wickets for 19.

Guyana were eventually dismissed for just 117 in 14.2 overs, handing the Falcons a convincing 65-run victory and ending the Warriors’ six-match winning streak.

Shadab was named Player of the Match for his decisive all-round performance.

The victory also secured the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons a top-two finish and a place in Qualifier 1, giving them two opportunities to reach the CPL final.
