Rondon Shaury Alexandra has arrived in Beijing to represent the country at the 19th Chinese Bridge Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students.
The Chinese Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda announced her arrival, saying Alexandra is preparing to compete alongside secondary school students from other countries in the international Chinese-language event.
During the 15-day programme, she will participate in the competition while also experiencing Chinese culture and visiting Beijing and Tianjin. Activities are expected to include visits to historical landmarks and opportunities to experience local life.
The Chinese Bridge programme is designed to promote Chinese-language learning and cultural exchanges among students from around the world.
Alexandra’s participation will place Antigua and Barbuda on the international stage as she demonstrates her Chinese-language skills and knowledge of Chinese culture.
The Chinese Embassy has encouraged Antiguans and Barbudans to support Alexandra during the competition. The embassy’s official website confirms it continues to promote educational and people-to-people exchanges between China and Antigua and Barbuda.
