Police have detained a man after a quad bike stolen from a property in Herbert’s was recovered near Tyrells on Thursday.

The green and black 2024 Yamaha Raptor 700 was found along Olney Frederick Road, hours after surveillance footage reportedly captured two people removing it from the property between about 00:30 and 01:00.

Police footage from the recovery shows an officer detaining a man at the scene. Sources say he was allegedly found pulling the quad bike from bushes after being followed to the area.

The owner had offered a US$2,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the vehicle or the identification of those responsible.

Police have not confirmed whether a second person is being sought in connection with the theft.
