China has donated and delivered 200 residential energy storage systems to Antigua and Barbuda as part of its continuing cooperation with the twin-island nation.
Zhang Peng, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda, highlighted the donation while speaking at a reception marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
“Two hundred sets of residential energy storage systems donated by China were successfully delivered to Antigua and Barbuda,” Zhang said.
The energy systems were among several areas of cooperation highlighted by Zhang as he outlined developments in relations between the two countries over the past year.
He also pointed to the start of the third phase of the China-Aid Agricultural Technical Assistance Project and said a Chinese-funded 150-unit housing project would be delivered soon.
Zhang said cooperation between the two countries has continued to produce “significant results,” while pledging that China would continue working with Antigua and Barbuda in areas including climate change and sustainable development.
“The Chinese Embassy will further enhance communication and exchanges with all sectors of Antigua and Barbuda society, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation across all fields to deliver more tangible outcomes that better benefit our peoples,” Zhang said.
