China says the 150-unit Pelican Court housing development, formerly known as Booby Alley, is expected to be delivered soon as cooperation between Beijing and Antigua and Barbuda continues to expand.

Zhang Peng, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda, provided the update during a reception marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

“The China-aided 150-unit housing project will be delivered soon,” Zhang said.

The project is being developed at Pelican Court, the area formerly known as Booby Alley.

Zhang did not provide a specific completion or handover date during his remarks.

He listed the housing development among several recent areas of cooperation between China and Antigua and Barbuda, including the delivery of 200 residential energy storage systems and the start of the third phase of the China-Aid Agricultural Technical Assistance Project.

Zhang said China intends to continue strengthening its relationship with Antigua and Barbuda and supporting the country in areas including climate change and sustainable development.

“The Chinese Embassy will further enhance communication and exchanges with all sectors of Antigua and Barbuda society, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation across all fields to deliver more tangible outcomes that better benefit our peoples,” Zhang said.
