Tristan Armstrong has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for an armed robbery at Bailey’s Supermarket in Falmouth in 2021.
The 34-year-old was sentenced in the High Court on Friday after being convicted of aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The court heard that Armstrong confronted the supermarket owner as he arrived for work in October 2021 and pointed a gun at him.
The owner managed to obtain a firearm and shot Armstrong, who was later found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside an abandoned house in Piccadilly.
Armstrong was tried by a judge without a jury and was found guilty in July.
He was sentenced on Friday. The offences carry a maximum prison term of 35 years.
