A 24-year-old man has died after reportedly being shot in the chest in Ottos, Antigua.

The man was taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre in critical condition but later died from his injuries.

Preliminary reports suggest he was travelling in a vehicle with a woman when two people allegedly emerged from nearby bushes and opened fire.

Unconfirmed reports also suggest the vehicle may have been followed before the shooting.

The vehicle reportedly sustained several bullet holes and was later taken to the medical centre.

The man’s identity has not been released, and it remains unclear whether the woman accompanying him was injured.

The exact time and circumstances of the shooting have not been established.

Police have not yet officially confirmed the details surrounding the incident.
