The Praise Break Gospel Quest Committee has officially announced that the 2026 edition of the gospel music competition will not be staged this year. However, the Committee remains firmly committed to its mission of discovering, nurturing, developing, and promoting gospel music talent throughout Antigua and Barbuda.

The decision comes as the Committee redirects its focus towards strengthening the initiative, expanding opportunities for gospel artistes, and preparing for the return of Praise Break Gospel Quest in 2027.

The Committee wishes to assure all individuals who registered for the 2026 competition that their applications will remain valid. All registered participants will automatically be transitioned into the participation process for Praise Break Gospel Quest 2027, ensuring that their interest and commitment are recognised.

The Committee extends its sincere appreciation to all applicants for their enthusiasm, patience, and willingness to share their God-given musical gifts. Further information regarding the 2027 competition will be communicated in due course.

PSALMIST ELLISHA ANDREW’S NAMED 2026–2027 PRIORITY GOSPEL RECORDING ARTISTE

Despite the postponement of this year’s competition, Praise Break continues to advance its broader vision of identifying, supporting, and investing in promising gospel music talent.

Following talent scouting efforts across Antigua and Barbuda, the Committee is pleased to announce the selection of Psalmist Ellisha Andrew’s as the 2026–2027 Praise Break Priority Gospel Recording Artiste.

As part of this appointment, Psalmist Ellisha Andrew’s is expected to enter into a one-year recording and artiste development contract with Peetron Music, through its gospel music department, Praise Break. The proposed contractual period will run from November 2026 to November 2027.

Under this arrangement, she will receive the recording and artiste development package originally designated for the winner of the 2026 Praise Break Gospel Quest competition.

During the contractual period, Psalmist Ellisha Andrew’s will be the department’s priority gospel recording artiste, receiving focused support in professional music production, artiste development, branding, promotion, and opportunities for increased exposure within the gospel music industry.

The Committee emphasises that this appointment is an independent artiste selection and does not constitute a competition victory, as the 2026 edition of Praise Break Gospel Quest will not be staged.

Rather, the selection reflects the organisation’s commitment to recognising promising gospel music talent and creating meaningful opportunities for professional development beyond the competition stage.

The Committee looks forward to working with Psalmist Ellisha Andrew’s as she prepares to embark on this new chapter of her musical journey.

COMMITTEE RECOGNISES CONTINUED PROGRESS OF INAUGURAL WINNER ENOCH THOMAS

The Praise Break Gospel Quest Committee also takes this opportunity to recognise and celebrate Enoch Thomas, the inaugural winner of Praise Break Gospel Quest, who continues to make encouraging strides in his gospel music career.

Since emerging as the competition’s first official winner, Thomas has continued developing his musical journey, particularly through the guidance and management of Dr. Noel Howell.

The Committee acknowledges the important role that artiste management, mentorship, and continued professional development play in helping emerging gospel artistes establish themselves within the music industry.

Thomas’s continued progress serves as an encouraging example of the opportunities that can emerge when musical talent is identified, supported, and given a platform for growth.

The Committee commends both Thomas and Dr. Howell for their continued efforts and looks forward to witnessing further developments in his musical career.

His journey also reinforces the broader vision of Praise Break Gospel Quest, which extends beyond identifying talent to encouraging artistes to pursue meaningful opportunities within the gospel music industry.

STRENGTHENING THE FUTURE OF GOSPEL MUSIC

Praise Break, the gospel music department of Peetron Music, remains committed to supporting the advancement of gospel music in Antigua and Barbuda.

While Praise Break Gospel Quest serves as a competitive platform for discovering emerging gospel talent, the department’s wider objectives include artiste development, professional recording, music production, promotion, and opportunities for greater industry exposure.

The selection of a Priority Gospel Recording Artiste represents an important step towards expanding these opportunities and establishing a more structured approach to gospel music development.

The Committee believes that the growth of gospel music requires not only opportunities for artistes to showcase their abilities but also meaningful investment in their development beyond the stage.

Through this initiative, Praise Break intends to encourage the production of original gospel music, promote musical excellence, and provide opportunities for local artistes to share their talents with audiences throughout Antigua and Barbuda, the wider Caribbean, and internationally.

The Committee remains optimistic about the future of gospel music and is committed to playing a positive role in its continued development.

PRAISE BREAK GOSPEL QUEST TO RETURN IN 2027

Meanwhile, preparations will continue for the return of Praise Break Gospel Quest in 2027.

The Committee will focus on strengthening the competition’s structure, enhancing the participant experience, and expanding opportunities for aspiring gospel artistes.

All individuals who registered for the 2026 edition will be included in the 2027 participation process, with further communication to follow regarding the competition’s schedule and arrangements.

The Committee encourages churches, gospel singers, musicians, sponsors, supporters, and members of the wider public to continue supporting the initiative as it works towards its next staging.

Although the 2026 competition will not take place, the Committee stresses that the vision and mission of Praise Break Gospel Quest remain unchanged.

The continued development of inaugural winner Enoch Thomas, alongside the selection of Psalmist Ellisha Andrew’s as the 2026–2027 Priority Gospel Recording Artiste, reflects the organisation’s commitment to creating opportunities for gospel talent through both competition and professional artiste development.

Praise Break Gospel Quest remains dedicated to discovering talent, developing voices, promoting musical excellence, and creating opportunities for gospel music to flourish in Antigua and Barbuda and beyond.
