The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has completed a national school outreach campaign to promote awareness of diplomacy and regional cooperation among students.

The tour, which began at Christian Union Preschool and Junior Academy and concluded on 19 June, included visits to schools such as Antigua Girls’ High, Clare Hall Secondary, the Adele School for Special Needs, and Antigua Grammar School. Some schools were omitted due to ongoing exams.

As part of the initiative, one outstanding student will be chosen to attend the 55th Regular Session of the Organization of American States (OAS) General Assembly as a special guest of Foreign Affairs Minister E.P. Chet Greene.

“We’re going into schools to educate students about the OAS, the importance of the upcoming General Assembly, and how young people can use their voices to create change,” said Briana Anthony, the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer.

The outreach team included Ambassador Dr Clarence Pilgrim, Director General Ann-Marie Layne, Legal Officer Jmoul Francis, Communications Officer Everton Barnes, and Barbuda Liaison Officer Darilyn Burton.

Minister Greene said the programme offers students a firsthand look at diplomacy and how regional decisions shape their futures.
