ST. JOHN’S, Antigua (Oct. 2, 2025) — Antigua Cruise Port officially opened the 2025/2026 cruise season on Thursday with the arrival of Royal Caribbean’s _Rhapsody of the Seas_, marking the first scheduled call of what is projected to be a record-breaking year.

The ship’s visit coincided with progress on the port’s Upland Development Project, a major initiative to transform the facility into a modern, world-class cruise terminal. The project, spearheaded by Global Ports Holding, aims to expand passenger amenities and strengthen Antigua and Barbuda’s position as a leading cruise destination in the Caribbean.

Officials at the port hailed the dual milestones as a sign of continued growth for the tourism sector, with expectations high for increased passenger arrivals throughout the season.
