ST. JOHN’S, Antigua — More than four years after Customs Officer Nigel Christian was shot and killed, the three men accused of his murder are set to stand trial on February 18 before Rajiv Persaud.

Christian, 44, a senior customs official, was abducted from his McKinnons home on July 10, 2020, and later found dead in the Thibou’s area with multiple gunshot wounds. His killing sent shockwaves across the country.

Police later charged Lasean Bully of Cashew Hill, Wayne Thomas of Hatton, and Saleim Harrigan of Greenbay with murder in April 2021.

The case has faced repeated delays, including several adjournments in the All Saints Magistrate’s Court, before being committed to the High Court assizes in January 2023. Further postponements pushed the arraignment to January 2024, when the three men pleaded not guilty before Justice Ann-Marie Smith.
