    Lisbert Evans Accused of Issuing EC$221,000 in Cheques Without Sufficient Funds to Businesses and Individuals

    BARNES HILL MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH MULTIPLE FRAUD MATTERS

    St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Thursday, 20 August 2026

    Police have arrested and charged 44-year-old Lisbert Evans of Barnes Hill in connection with several alleged fraud matters involving cheques totalling EC$221,000.

    Evans is accused of issuing several cheques to businesses and other persons without sufficient funds to honour the payments.

    The alleged offences occurred between 17 April and 27 July 2026 at locations including All Saints Road, Popeshead Street, and Friars Hill Road.

    A search warrant was also executed at his residence and the police recovered several items in connection with the alleged offences.

    Police are continuing investigations into other related fraud matters.
