Education Minister Daryll Matthew says a detailed report will soon be released outlining the events that led to the recent teachers’ strike by the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers.

Speaking on state media, the minister questioned the prevailing narrative, citing widespread “miscommunication, misunderstanding, and misrepresentation” over the past six weeks.

Matthew said the report is necessary despite the apparent resolution of the dispute, arguing that the public has only heard one side of the story.

“Often, public servants shy away from going public, even when they are right. That reluctance to speak out can lead to misunderstandings,” he said.

The report, which aims to clarify the government’s position and actions, is expected to be published in the coming days.
