A man found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving will be sentenced in July, more than three years after the fatal incident.
Kevon Small was convicted in April for the death of 50-year-old Colin Anderson Joseph, who was struck by a vehicle at the Market and New Streets junction on 1 September 2021.
Video evidence showed Joseph attempting to cross the road when Small’s vehicle turned into the intersection, hitting and running over him.
Joseph suffered a skull fracture and other serious injuries. He died at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre after being placed on a ventilator.
Small, 34 at the time, told the court he had a medical condition brought on by stress and exhaustion, but no supporting evidence was provided.
Justice Ann-Marie Smith, who presided over the case, will now sentence Small on 11 July.
