The government aims to break ground on major works along All Saints Road by the final quarter of 2025, according to Housing Minister Maria Browne.
Speaking in an interview with ABS, Minister Browne confirmed that the project remains in the design phase, with ongoing consultations involving large regional contractors.
“We’re still engaging contractors – large contractors – because we do need more machines, more expertise going forward,” she explained. “And also a transfer of knowledge that would be exceptional, as we seek to address All Saints Road.”
Among the firms showing interest is Antigua-based S. J. Williams, along with several other companies across the region. However, Browne stressed that no final agreement has yet been signed.
The All Saints Road corridor, a key artery in Antigua’s road network, has long been earmarked for comprehensive rehabilitation due to wear and increased traffic congestion.
The Ministry is expected to confirm a final design and contractor within the coming months.
