A new housing project near St John’s is set to move forward in the coming weeks, with Chapel Development Company leading the preliminary layout phase, according to Housing Minister Hon. Maria Browne.

Speaking in a recent interview with ABS, Minister Browne confirmed that plans for the site are progressing steadily and will soon be made public.

“Chapel will be the ones spearheading the housing over there,” she said. “They’re beginning their preliminary layout and we’ll make that public within a matter of weeks.”

The development, which will include a mix of house lots and fully built homes, is expected to attract significant public interest due to its close proximity to the capital and surrounding amenities.

“A lot of people are excited about it,” Browne added. “It’s a lovely area—its proximity to town and everything that is happening, it’s wonderful.”

The minister also emphasised that priority will be given to residents from the immediate area, aligning with the government’s commitment to ensure local communities benefit directly from national housing initiatives.
