Antigua and Barbuda played a leading role at this year’s Caribbean Week in New York, hosted by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) from 1–6 June.

Tourism Minister Charles ‘Max’ Fernandez led a high-level delegation, including senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA), to the event at The Westin New York at Times Square.

“Caribbean Week – and the spirit of cooperation that defines it – has a special place in our hearts,” said Minister Fernandez. He joined Antiguan chef and Food Network’s _Chopped_ winner Claude Lewis on WPIX TV to promote the destination’s cuisine, beaches, and accessibility.

The ABTA team held key media engagements with _Travel Weekly_ and _AFAR_ Magazine and sponsored English Harbour Rum cocktails at a private Caribbean Week reception.

ABTA CEO Colin C. James, who chairs the CTO events committee, opened the week with a call for regional collaboration. “Competition keeps us on our toes… and improving the quality and sustainability of our product,” he said.

For the second year, Antigua and Barbuda hosted the sold-out Caribbean Women’s Leadership Dinner & Awards, honouring trailblazing women in tourism.

This year’s Caribbean Week, themed _Caribbean Resilience: Crafting Tomorrow’s Tourism_ , featured leadership forums, AI discussions, cultural events, and networking opportunities, reaffirming its status as the region’s premier tourism showcase in North America.
