Government Senator Lamin Newton has praised Creative Industries Minister Matthew, Junior Minister Senator Govia, and their team for an outstanding execution of Carnival 2025.

Describing the event as unforgettable, Newton highlighted the high quality of music and the flawless organisation of shows. He singled out the legendary band Burning Flames, celebrating their 40th anniversary and calling for them to be knighted as National Heroes following their electrifying performance at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.

Newton also commended the continuous improvement of masquerade bands, noting their vibrant displays and excellent organisation.

The senator welcomed the strong presence of police and defence forces, which ensured a secure environment for attendees.

“Wear this year’s celebrations as a badge of honour. This was by far one of the best carnival celebrations we have ever experienced,” he said.
